Eir is organizing a lunch lecture featuring two PhD researchers from the Care & Cure domain, who will share how biomedical measurements can be applied for maternal and neonatal healthcare.
Our first presenter, Irene Lensen, will discuss her research on early detection of complications during pregnancy. By combining biomedical signals such as ECG, EHG, EEG, and ultrasound, she investigates the coupling between maternal and fetal cardiovascular systems.
Afterwards, Giulia Palladino will present her work on non-obtrusive monitoring of preterm infants. Using a fiber-optic pressure-sensitive mattress, she studies movement patterns and respiration, as well as the maturation trajectories of preterm infants through vital signs data.
